{"id":4846,"date":"2019-06-04T06:39:11","date_gmt":"2019-06-04T06:39:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/internationaldiplomat.com\/?p=4846"},"modified":"2019-06-04T06:39:11","modified_gmt":"2019-06-04T06:39:11","slug":"resolution-on-cooperation-between-the-united-nations-and-the-international-fund-for-saving-the-aral-sea-adopted-in-new-york","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/12h71.com\/?p=4846","title":{"rendered":"Resolution on \u201cCooperation between the UN &#038;the International Fund"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Resolution on \u201cCooperation between the United Nations and the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea adopted in New York<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On 28 May 2019, the 85<sup>th<\/sup> plenary meeting of the 73<sup>rd<\/sup> Session of the United Nations General Assembly was held at the headquarters of the United Nations with participation of plenipotentiary representatives of the Organizations\u2019 member-states.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The meeting adopted the Resolution on \u201cCooperation between the United Nations and the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea\u201d initiated by Turkmenistan by consensus.\u00a0 21 countries joined the co-sponsorship of the Resolution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Noting that the issue of preserving the Aral Sea has a global significance, Turkmenistan consistently stands for the unification of efforts of the world community in resolving this ecological crisis.\u00a0 In the framework of its chairmanship in the International Fund of Saving the Aral Sea for 2017-2019, Turkmenistan has initiated the development of a Special UN Programme for the Aral Sea basin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The adopted Resolution notes the necessity of further perfection of the activities of the International Fund of Saving the Aral Sea.
