Jack Lang, pr\u00e9sident de l\u2019Institut du monde arabe et co-fondateur d\u2019ALIPH<\/a>, soutient cet appel lanc\u00e9 par\u00a0l\u2019Alliance internationale pour la protection du patrimoine dans les zones de conflit en soutien au Liban et au patrimoine de Beyrouth.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Nous tenons \u00e0 exprimer notre solidarit\u00e9 avec le peuple libanais pour la trag\u00e9die qui a frapp\u00e9\u00a0la ville de Beyrouth. Nous sommes tr\u00e8s attrist\u00e9s par ces \u00e9v\u00e9nements et nous adressons au\u00a0Liban nos condol\u00e9ances pour les pertes en vies humaines et exprimons notre commune\u00a0pr\u00e9occupation face \u00e0 l’ampleur des destructions mat\u00e9rielles.<\/span><\/p>\n

En tant que membres de la communaut\u00e9 culturelle et praticiens de la protection du\u00a0patrimoine, nous travaillons depuis des d\u00e9cennies aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s du peuple libanais pour\u00a0sauvegarder et pr\u00e9server le patrimoine culturel unique de cette nation. Nous sommes \u00e0 ses\u00a0c\u00f4t\u00e9s pour poursuivre notre travail collectif en ces temps difficiles.<\/span><\/p>\n

Les biblioth\u00e8ques, les mus\u00e9es et les b\u00e2timents historiques endommag\u00e9s n\u00e9cessiteront des\u00a0interventions de premiers secours aussi bien que des op\u00e9rations de r\u00e9habilitation de plus\u00a0long terme. Leurs collections devront \u00eatre prot\u00e9g\u00e9es et sauvegard\u00e9es en priorit\u00e9. Nous\u00a0nous engageons \u00e0 faire tout ce qui est en notre pouvoir pour contribuer \u00e0 la r\u00e9habilitation\u00a0compl\u00e8te du patrimoine de Beyrouth endommag\u00e9 par l\u2019explosion\u00a0\u00bb. We wish to express our solidarity with the Lebanese people for the tragedy that has struck\u00a0the city of Beirut. We are saddened by these events and we send our condolences for the\u00a0loss of lives and our shared concern for the scale of material destruction.<\/span><\/p>\n

As members and practitioners of the heritage protection community, we have worked for\u00a0decades alongside the Lebanese people to safeguard and preserve the nation\u2019s unique\u00a0cultural heritage.
