{"id":6575,"date":"2022-07-12T13:43:52","date_gmt":"2022-07-12T13:43:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/internationaldiplomat.com\/?p=6575"},"modified":"2022-07-12T13:43:52","modified_gmt":"2022-07-12T13:43:52","slug":"70th-annual-plenary-session-of-the-conference-of-european-statisticians","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/12h71.com\/?p=6575","title":{"rendered":"70th annual plenary session\u202fof the Conference of European Statisticians"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>70th annual plenary session\u202fof the Conference of European Statisticians<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On 20 June 2022, the\u00a0<strong>most senior statisticians<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a0<strong>some 80 countries, UN bodies and international organizations<\/strong>, gathered for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/unece.org\/info\/Statistics\/events\/362762\">the\u202f70th annual plenary session\u202fof the Conference of European Statisticians (CES)<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 UNECE\u2019s highest statistical decision-making body.<\/p>\n<p>Participators included\u00a0<strong>chief statisticians of USA, Canada, EU, all European countries, Ukraine*, Russia*, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, Japan*, Australia, New Zealand &amp; UN Statistical Division, OECD, World Bank, IMF<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Among\u202fimportant decisions to make about the ways that essential facts about economies, societies and the environment are defined and measured, they will also celebrate the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/unece.org\/FPOS30\">30<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary of the Fundamental Principles of Official Statistics<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 the \u2018ten commandments\u2019 of official statistics that were developed by CES 30 years ago before being endorsed by the UN Statistical Commission and subsequently by ECOSOC, and which became a General Assembly-endorsed global standard in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>This leading statistical work is the\u00a0<strong>foundation for all work of Official Statistics,\u00a0<\/strong>shaping measurement in key areas like<strong>\u00a0population and housing censuses, GDP, inflation,\u00a0<\/strong>as well as statistics on<strong>\u00a0climate change, employment, migration, social exclusion\u00a0<\/strong>and many more areas.
