\"\u267b\ufe0f\"<\/span> On December 12, the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEP) adopted a resolution \u201cOn conserving glaciers and cryospheres\u201d following its seventh session at UNEP headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\"\u267b\ufe0f\"<\/span>The resolution on preservation of glaciers and cryospheres, proposed on the initiative of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Peru, was adopted by the international community.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\"\u267b\ufe0f\"<\/span> The resolution calls on all Member States and development partners to intensify efforts in preserving glaciers, combating climate change, expanding international cooperation and sustainability, and attracting financial resources.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\"\u267b\ufe0f\"<\/span>The UN Environment Assembly is recognized as the highest environmental decision-making body worldwide.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\"\u267b\ufe0f\"<\/span> This resolution is the first and so far the only resolution in the history of the United Nations Environment Assembly, authored by the Central Asian country, the Republic of Tajikistan.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The UN Environment Assembly is recognized worldwide as the highest decision-making body on environmental issues.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\"\u267b\ufe0f\"<\/span> This resolution is the first and, so far, only one in the history of the UN Environment Assembly sponsored by a Central Asian country, the Republic of Tajikistan. <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
